The student project is mainly sponsored and supported by two partners at the University of Bremen, which complement each other in their areas of expertise.
The BIBA – Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik GmbH is a scientific engineering research institute. In July of 1981, it was founded as one of the first attached institutes at the University of Bremen and today ranks among the largest research facilities in Germany. It consists of two sections: “Intelligent Production and Logistics Systems” (IPS) and “Information and Communication Technology Applications for Production” (IKAP).
The BIBA is committed to three DFG collaborative research centers at the University of Bremen, to the Bremen Research Cluster for Dynamics in Logistics (LogDynamics) and to the International Graduate School for Dynamics in Logistics. With LogDynamics Lab, the BIBA possesses a service center for developing and testing innovative mobile technologies for logistic processes and systems.
The Center for Computing and Communication Technologies (TZI), founded in 1995, is a scientific institution of the departments “Mathematics and Computer Science” and “Physics and Electrical Engineering” at the University of Bremen with about 160 employees. Its aim is the transfer, development and research of innovative technologies in informatics and information technology.
The TZI is committed to the leading themes digital reality, mobile solutions and adaptive communication, to which the technology areas contribute their competences. All leading themes have the concentration on application-oriented issues in common. Therefore, the TZI considers itself also as a technology service provider, who develops innovative technologies on the basis of basic research and transfers its findings to practice.
